video+audio background templates

i decided to create something without story—meant to be used as background, like a stock photo, for someone else’s video templates (similar to Canva’s background videos). thanks for checking it out!

liz’s latest poetic offering: CONFIDENT IDIOT

  • CONFIDENT IDIOT was written between 2022 and 2023, as a series of post-it note poems. Liz, when overwhelmed or deeply moved by emotion, writes short, loud poems on post-it notes regarding the subjects that haunt and plague her.

  • i wrote confident idiot between 2022 and 2023, on post-it notes. when i am deeply overwhelmed or moved by emotion, due to exterior or interior stressors, i write short, loud poems on post-it notes regarding the subjects that haunt and plague me. i put these intense or terrifying emotions inside the little post-it boxes, and then i put the post-its up on the walls. there, i can re-encounter those feelings at a safe distance, both literally and psychically. then, those subjects become clearer and clearer, and i can do something about those stressors. for external stressors, i can shout and protest—hence, the title of the poetry collection.

the last poem in this collection regards a very intense exterior stressor: colonialism, and our collective ability to protest it. that poem is dedicated to my comrades fighting for their freedom in Palestine. we will keep fighting beside you, and we will keep protesting, until Palestine is free and the land is returned to the Palestinians.
